IRIX 11mm Lens Announced

Widen your point of view with the new IRIX 11mm f/4 lens!

TH Swiss company is pleased to announce the official launch of the new model of IRIX lens 11mm f/4. It is another ultra wide-angle rectilinear manual focus lens designed for DSLR cameras. But this time… its even wider!

Ingenious functionality A new lens has joined the IRIX family, with a focal length of 11mm and aperture of f/4. After the tried and tested success of the IRIX 15mm f/2.4, the IRIX 11mm has inherited the same functionality such as: Lens focus lock mechanism, an extremely useful infinity click feature and very intuitive and user-friendly hyperfocal scale. The rear gelatin filter slot is another common feature found on the new IRIX 11mm f/4.

Firefly and Blackstone versions Just like the IRIX 15mm, this lens is available in two finished versions. Firefly is the standard version made from lightweight composite materials, fitted with an anti-slip rubber coating ring and clearly printed markings. There will be also a premium version available, which is the Blackstone with a durable aluminium and magnesium body that ensures foolproof protection of your lens. Blackstone’s engraved fluorescent markings reflect the UV light to enable easy operation in low-light conditions.

IRIX 11mm Blackstone and Firefly

The Firefly version comes complete with front and rear lens caps, a 2nd spare rear cap, a soft lens pouch and special designer constructed tin box. The Blackstone version is packaged in the same way but wth a hard zipped lens case.

Extreme weather resistance and Neutrino coating All IRIX lenses can be used in even the harshest weather conditions. Both versions of 11mm are equipped with a weather sealed construction that protects the interior against dust and moisture. Thanks to inner seals they are also protected from accidental water splashes. The sophisticated optical construction and special neutrino coatings reduces colour aberration, ghosting and flare effects to the absolute minimum.

Widen your point of view Both the Blackstone and Firefly versions have identical mechanical and optical construction. They offer minimal barrel distortion of 3,13% and an astonishing diagonal angle of view of 126 degrees. Combining these two qualities together makes the lens an ideal tool for both outdoor and indoor photography – whether for photojournalism, landscapes or architectural photography. The IRIX 11mm f/4 is perfectly equipped and price positioned for both professionals and hobbyist photographers.

IRIX 11mm f/4 Availability and Product Launch

TH Swiss will be officially premiering 11mm lens at The Photography Show in Birmingham from March 18th to 21st, there will be the possibility of purchasing the first versions at the show. You are invited to visit IRIX at Stand No C31. Worldwide sales will start after the exhibition.
